Howdy!

I've noticed that the vinyl skin on my driver's door is debonding on the inner radius of the arm rest. Anyone else solve this problem? I was thinking about a syringe with a quick drying epoxy, injecting it thru the covering, and holding it down until it sticks. Any other ideas?

uh oh!

And they trust this guy with a $$$$ chopper and give him a g-u-n ?

Just kidding ..... ;)

I'd be real careful, the resin may have something in it that will melt through the vinyl and it may be rigid and crackly when it sets. Hole where you inject it may expand too.

See if one of your buddies has the same problem and try it on his car, jus' make sure it's one you can whup if it doesn't work. :D

I'd go down to an upholstery or top shop .... wearing a uniform won't hurt, and see what they say.

Same thing is happenning on my 99 FRC door panels... Injecting glue is pretty creative and just may work. There are three solutions as I see it;

1) Live with it
2) Buy new door panels
3) Buy a new car (Vette, CTS-V...)

That happened on our 97. Permatex sent me a tube of adhesive ( pit crews Choice). the problem is you cannot get the vinal pressed down enough to adhere. I bought from mid-america leather arm rests and simply applied them over the problem. It's been several years now and you cannot notice it. I think if I had to reapply the leather arm rests I would cut the vinal and really glue it down and then apply the rests.

I had that problem on my Daughters Alero and I had it stuck back down. While it's better it doesn't look the same as before, it's got some wrinkles in it!
