Help! Visor Assitance Please...

Have discovered why vanity mirror on drivers side gave way. The visor is so tight on it's shaft that the visor bends while it is positioned. This bending caused the vanity to come off it's pins.

I have used Super Glue for the pins and now need some idea to loosen up the shaft,.

Could I spray a bit of WD 40 along the bar inside of the fabric covering??
