My 92 has a water leak in the passenger windshield pillar. I removed the plastic cover inside and it showes up in the middle of the pillar, seems to come out of the seam in the middle. It must rain on it for a while for this to happen. While I never leav in the rain, sometimes I get caught in it comming back. Any ideas?

My 88 leaked on the A pilar on the drivers side. I used a tube of black silicone and put a very small bead between the glass and the frame. This stopped the leak. Run a piece of masking tape on the glass close to the metal frame. This will allow you to pull off any excess silicone when finished. If you're careful, you won't even see the silicone. If you want to chcek it first, just tape over the frame and the glass to see if this stopped the leak. Be sure its not the drain on the sump thats leaking. The drain hose for that stopps up easily.

Start by treating your weather stripping with the correct silicon lubricant.

Like "HPG", I've experienced a leak around the A-pillar before and decided to add a little extra between the roof and the windshield. I put a little extra silicon sealant (aquarium stuff) on the weather stripping between this two areas, placed some wax paper between them and bolted the roof back on. After the sealant cured, I removed the roof and the wax paper and pressed on. This provided the extra sealing needed to keep the rain from dripping on the floor. Over the years, I've taken to treating the weather stripping with a proper silicon lubricant treatment on a regular basis and have had any return of the problem. I drive my old 92 daily, rain or shine.

Windshield Sealer

NAPA sells a rubberized windshield sealant that will outperform the silicone seal. It's a little pricey ($12 as I recall) but it lasts longer and won't exude onto the window and cause streaks and wiper vibration like the silicone seal will. Beware of the old DUCO like stuff. It's nothing more than model glue and will dry out, crack and leak.

Yes, it may be the gasket round the windshield. Most C4's leak after some years. I do need a new gasket fro the windshield. Good Luck
