im purchasing things for my engine ...small block..and im being asked if its a long or short water pump. when i bought the pump i dont recall being asked if i wanted short or long... , but i need to know how to tell the diffrence. can anybody explain the diffrence and how to tell ? thanks , chas:D

I think that you can tell by the number of belt grooves on the w/p pulley? One = short and two=long?

the long water pump sits further out from the block and has longer runners, Corvettes use short water pumps.
