My buddy and I took our wives to see a C6 this afternoon.

It was black/tan 6 speed no Z51.
The dealer had a $10,000 "Adm fee" attached to it, but after talking for a few minutes he said the car wa available for MSRP....$48,XXX

I'm not a big fan yet, but sitting in the car, it is obvious that it is a nice improvement from the C5.

The seats feel great.

The shifter feels very smooth with the throws being noticeably shorter.

One thing that my buddy's wife noticed was that the windows of the C6 are much smaller than those of the C5, giving the impression (at least to us) that the roof has been "chopped".

There is a handle on the inside of the trunk lid for pulling the trunk closed.

Additionally, when you pull the trunk closed it finishes closing by itself, something luxury cars have been doing for awhile.

My wife has not been a fan of the C5 coupe, but does like the looks of the C6 coupe. She said she would like a red one.

Well, those are my thoughts and impressions.
We'll start seein' them all over the place soon!

Don't forget to :w

I saw one advertised for $65,000 in the back of AutoWeek a couple weeks ago. They justified the price by calling it "a market adjustment." :eyerole

Ford dealers do the same thing. A couple years ago, when I brought my truck in for service, I decided to walk around to see what Ford had to offer for their "latest and greatest".

In the showroom was one of their top of the line Mustang Cobras and although I don't remember what the price was, I do remember I almost choked when I saw it, along with what they called a "fair market adjustment" on the sticker. I call it "rape."

Sounds cool Tripleback. I loike the "chopped" look personally and think the C6 is very cool and good looking. Any pics from your adventure???

No.. we didn't take any pictures, but a buddy of mine called me this morning.
He was at the same dealership we visited on Saturday having recall work done on his '04 Z06.

The C6 that we saw Saturday had been sold and the owner was back at the dealership this morning because something was broken or malfunctioning on it! The guy was uspset.

My buddy said that the dealership was trying to pacify the new owner with a corvette baseball cap...but it was a C5 cap!! I don't believe the guy was impressed!

Hey by the way, congrats on your C6! What color/combo options did you order?

Take care,

Pedro

That's too bad for the C6 guy...I hope his problems on the car are not a sign of things to come for those of us who ordered one.

I ordered a Silver Coupe, cashmere, 6-speed, Z-51, Nav, polished wheels, and the front plate bracket...which I plan on ceremoniously destroying.

Landmark Chevrolet in Houston, Texas has a $20,000 mark up on the new C6 Corvettes.
