Boy, this is probably a no-brainer but, I am at a loss here. I just received weatherstripping for the body and convertible top for my '72. There are two pieces roughly 6 inches long that were attached to the pillar post pieces. I couldn't figure out how they were supposed to fit, so I cut them off. I think you were supposed to do that. Anyway, cant figure out where the heck they go. :confused

Anybody know what I am talking about?

Ok, Here is a pic at http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?dept_id=253&pf_id=43970&mscssid=LNVT2VM9T2ED8MRAH8FFAKGWK8W2BPB8. It shows the "extension".

I think I figured it out. It looks like it is a "rain gutter" that runs along to top edge where the fender meets the door right below the pillar weatherstrip. Looks like it channels the water toward the hinge area to prevent it from leaking in the top of the door area. I don't know if that describes it very well but i think that's where it goes. We'll see when I get home.
