While my Baby is in the garage, and before Auburn, i think i will attempt to replace the Weatherstrip on the Hatch. It had been "reapplied" by an Opel Shop and since then leakes and looks crappy (There seem to be German Bubba's too!)..
I dont think i want you to see her like that ;)
As i have to remove the entire Hatch for that, anything special i need to look out for ?
I had attempted to adjust the Hatch once, and that didnt go well at all... Scratches on the rear deck as the shocks pushed out and now it doesnt open without being brutalized. :mad
So, me figured, i could take the whole thing out, replace the Weatherstripping (Outch, that is expensive: At Zip for $249 plus adhesive remover and the yellow adhesive; MA: Cant find it on their website.. ), and then put the thing back together nicely..
So, if you guys/gals have done this before and could warn me of any major (and minor) things to look out for, i'd appreciate it.
Also, what types of tools do i need, other than the old wrench/screwdrivers ? I have to say i am somewhat weary of the shocks, see above, is there something i can "bind" them in place before taking them out ? ;help
Thanks !!
Stefan :w
