weird lockup problem on new bto 700r4

Hi all , I just had a bto 700r4 installed , it's meant to be internallly wired for 4th gear lock up only, the tranny shifts fine through the gears then when in overdrive lock up doesnt come on untill it's under load/ acceleration then bac off it unlocks, so when i want to put my foot down at 50 it'll go from 4th,lock up then down shift to 3rd or 2nd it's really annoying , does anyone know wat can cause this ?has the internal pressure switch been wired the wrong way? thanks phil

That's strange and not the way it's supposed to work. You can feel mine go into 4th and then after a split second, the revs drop slightly as it locks. When I give it gas, nothing happens unless it down shifts, at which point the lockup disconnects.

Someone else will probably chime in but in the meantime have you given BTO a call to see what they say.

it's a wierd one from everything i've read about how it works, when its in forth cruising it does not go into lock up, but as soon as i accelarate the lock up kicks in so the you try go faster but it bogs the motor down because the rpms drops off , i wired a switch in the 12v line elimate lock up all together and all those are problems gone, hope bto have an answer!

OK called bto, they were so nice, but now one tech was being very arogant to me (always too hard when there's a real problem) he said the torque converter/or input shaft seal could be faulty and i have go for drive and talk to him as the same time tell him the pressures when in forth , but i dont see why it should be a pressure problem if it shifts in the 4th fine the lock up should be just come on!
