i just started full time up at www.fbodycentral.com helping out. we got 18 cars in the shop and about 4 of them are supercharged and 2 are turbo cars.

i am already getting the hookup and i am loving this! not making a killing in money but the time put forth is well worth it when it comes to modding my rides. well today my friend Tony asks "How much do you want for your 12" Orion subs?" he's been after me to sell them for sometime now and i said "300 bucks" he says cool. well he is saving some money for a new dirtbike that he really wants and after lunch he pulls me back in the back room and goes "Do you want a motor?" i said "What do you mean?" he said "I got a 96 suburban 4 bolt main roller motor with vortech heads i'll trade ya. the motor only has 80k in miles" so i'm thinking to myself STROKER!" it gets better! he says "I'll buy the motor since i can get it for 300 bucks and trade ya!" i said "Done Deal!" man i am so stoked! now i just gotta unload the vortech heads since they won't fit my LT1 intake i just bought and then i can put them towards a new set of heads!

i also ran across a Gen VI DFI setup for 200 bucks! i am thinking about getting it for the vette. the guy also has a D44 rear that is freshened up with 3.54 gears. he said he was told when he bought it that it came out of a ZR1. all i think i need is the batwing and driveshaft. he wants 500 for it. i'm debating on that since i gotta figure out exactly what i need for the conversion.

well after i do the motor in the vette later this year i think i'm gonna put my 60k in miles motor out of the vette in my Z/28 for now backed with a 700R4 tranny. i also got my eye on a totalled 96 Imp SS thats over my other buddies house sitting there for 3 years. i think i can get it cheap. it ran low low 13's in the Imp. i'd like to stick that in the Z/28 if i can steal it for less than a grand or i'll just wait till i got the funds for the LS1 M6 setup i got my eye on. we always get T56 trannies from LS1 Fbods because them guys are swapping to Turbo 400's or i can just spend 4k and get a complete motor/trans/harness/computer.

oh BTW i'm doing my long tube header install this weekend

Im assuming you can swap these blocks in the C4....when did gm start the reverse cooling stuff? The LT1 intake is reverse cooling too right?

Hows that gonna work out?

Yeah I would check on th 96 block, it should work, but I honestly cannot say for sure.

For the Dana 44 in your car you will need the Differential, Batwing, Driveshaft and Torque tube.

Otherwise it sounds like things are working out for you.

the block is out of a suburban and it's a roller block not a LT block. so everything should bolt right up when i build the shortblock.

thanks Jeff i'll have to start looking for some more parts. he's not pressed to sell it. he told me when ever i'm ready.

oh BTW Jeff i'm almost ready for that chip ;)

Mic,

You truly are mad! :L You wouldn't be satisfied with your Vette' until it ran 11's in the 1/4 and I'm not sure you would be satisfied with it then! You remind me of my buddy who wants to work for Best Buy; I told him that he'd just sign his paychecks over to them from buying so much stuff. :L :L

we'll see. if i do Tyson at our shop makes and installs them. he is hooking me up with some bullet mufflers and going to run them all the way out. i'm sure i can talk him in doing a dual setup if i want :D

there is a IHRA track here that we all goto sometimes for the car club and i can run 11.49 which, by estimation, i should be in the mid to high 11's N/A.

just trying to finish this project by fall so i can start on the 82 Z/28 :D

got track day 2/27 at Cecil County www.cecilcountydragway.com 2/29 U.S. 13 Dragway www.delawareracing.com 3/6 at MIR www.mirdrag.com and 3/7 at Capitol www.capitolraceway.com trying to get into the 12's before i start doing the heavy mods. i want to be in the 12's strong on mild bolt ons which i'm sure i can achieve :)

Dude, you're SCARING me... I think you've definitely been bitten by the Mod Bug. We'll see who has more $$ invested in mods by the time all is said and done :) . And we'll see if I can beat yours if it's not on juice.

yeah Rich got a nice setup he's building. i think he has 11's in his setup. mod for mod though you win cause i'll have to upgrade to a D44 and thats alot of $$$

feb 27th i'm taking the car to a dyno for dyno day. 40 bucks for 3 pulls. not sure with A/F or not but atleast it will give me a baseline for the mods i have now.

I wish I was near a track that would let me run under 12 without a cage

Mic,

Seems to me that next December you're going to be in the low 9s!!! ;)

Its great to see things are working out for you man. :upthumbs
I'm not sure, but I believe you have to change the half shafts too with the D44 besides the Driveshaft.

I'm curious about your next dyno day, so don't forget to post the numbers!

CU!

You don't have to change the halfshafts. I'm sure you know that though :beer Your intake on the way :w

Rich is going with the SuperRam right?

yes Rich has the Super Ram and i'm going with Moon's LT1 intake :D

i'll post the numbers from the dyno. sorry i thought it was the 27th but it's the 28th. going to a different dyno which is closer. 1 hour with A/F for 75 bucks.
