I saw the 66 for the first time since it was media stripped. The damage (from previous owner) to the front is more significant than expected.
The prior repair to the right front was a nightmare. The front of the fender was to low and built up with bondo. A layer of gelcoat was applied under the bondo but sprayed over old paint. You can peel it off with a knife.
Looks like we maybe replacing the front top surround and the front corners of the fenders.
I thought I'd share my experience, enjoy the pics

Gary,

At least it's getting the right treatment now. Before you know it, it'll be all shiney again.

:w

Gary I have seen alot worse, its amazing what a real glass man is able to repair.( I learned this first hand on my 62 the parts I thought had to be replaced were fixed with in days)

Good luck and keep us posted

Gary Overall I think it looks very solid. Good luck with it.

Thanks Guys I will keep you posted. You really do need to be an optimist to go through this, but it is fun!

When you put it that way I think I'll spend more time in the garage! My wife likes all the CSI shows. Cant stand any of them
