What Body Flexing???

I just figured that a smooth, shock absorbing, quiet and comfortable ride is what you get in today's cars.......or.......stiff, no dip, great steering response is what you get in a sports car. I don't believe you get both from a car, although the mercedes comes close. I have noticed the C-5 handling is very much the same. Bounces the way the C-4 does over a bump on a turn. Tight suspension vs Soft Ride!

Robertwav1:
You need to try an 03/04 Vette with the Magnetic Ride Control system. Smooth, quiet, comfortable ride - and - tight, quick, stiff, responsive at the same time. It makes a world of difference.

The wife and I refer to my ol 92 coupe at "the beast" now and it's really a good riding car but the 03 MSRC AE vert blows it away.

Hey Tuna....How about that! Geez....do I go for an upgrade? Well...maybe in a year or two when the price comes down a little on the 02, 03. I never drove one of these cars but, it will be on my agenda in the near future. It's good to hear they are improving the ride.:pat

mine is pretty tight. at a certain hwy speed and the road conditions are right. can be smooth or semi smooth i get a vibration from the air hitting the "roll bar" of the back hatch.

if you want to feel body flex put both windows up and cruise at 60 or so slow enough so the windshield don't wash the air over the "roll bar" but fast enough and you will feel your butt :booty vibrate pretty good in the seat.

if i was a woman i'd probably always drive like this :D

no offense ladies ;)

my g/f don't like the wind in her hair as i do unless it's hot out and the top is off it's ok but if it starts to get a weee bit chilly the window starts creeping up till i get this sensation then it drives me crazy and i end up putting the top on or :argue i tell her to get over it that it's too nice out. i get the look. i can usually get another 20 mins out of this then the top goes back on :cry

BTW my g/f is one of those if it's a 5 degree variance in temp then she's either hot or cold! :duh

I like the top off and so does my wife. You don't get all that wind like from a convertable....and when the windows are up with the top off you just get a breeze on the top of your head....it's great cruising to the shore on a nice night!

I've listened to what I guess is "body flex" with the top off for the past year that I've owned my 95. Mine happens even at a very slow speed on nearly every little bump or crack in the road I run over. I love driving with the top off, but I hate the loud knock or rattling sound I hear. I find myself waiting for the next one. My noise seems as though is is at the rear window latch, but I can't come up with a solution to correct it. I guess I will try to get used to it. This is my only complaint about my otherwise perfect car. It is so pronounced, I can't believe I can't correct it.
