What does the B12 code stand for??

On my 1978 L48 C3 the plate on the drivers side door post has three codes:

CHEVROLET B12
Trim 592 82L Paint

I know that 592 is for Light Beige Leather and 82L Paint for Mahogany.
What is the L in the paint code for, and what does B12 stand for?

its the month & day of build....I think B is September..

B is for October, for 1978 production. 12 is the 12th day of October, so your car had it's trim plate attached Oct. 12 , 1977.

The 'L' is for lower. 'U' would be for upper. Used for two tone colour paint schemes.

can someone interprete the trim tag from my 78 pace car?? it reads:

trim H19
152 19U 47M paint

i know that the 152 is pace car silver leather interior and the 19U (black upper paint) and H19 (silver lower paint). what day and month are represented by the 47M??

If the H19 is on the top right it is the date code
H=April 19=date
152=Silver Leather
19/47=Black/Silver

actually, it didn't print the way i had typed it, but you are correct in that the H19 is in the upper right hand side of the trim tag, with the work "paint" under it on pretty much the same line as the line beginning with "152". many thanks for clearing up my confusion.
