Would someone please identify this "thing" i.e., the round black thing just below the air inlet with the two hoses connected to it from the left side. Possible to eliminate? Sure is in the way to getting at that last sparkplug.:confused
 
88/35th is a nice car. In my opinion, you shouldn't remove any plumbing.

I think that's the AIR pump, to answer your question.
 
Hi all, it seems to me that different members have most difficulty getting to different spark plugs, (hope that makes sense). I don't think any of them could be called easy when compaired to some other marques but I found cylinders 2 and 4 to be the hardest. Is it a case of who has what in the tool box, or something else ? Roger.

Is air divertor valve for AIR system.
That and all associated plumbing can be removed.Need to plug the inlets into the one way valves on the exh manifolds if you do
 
If you do remove you should save the parts for the nexrt owner. with your car being an anniversary car having everything stock will mean more cash when next sold.
