What is with the square box 1990

Just what was suppose to go into the square box above the radio.:confused Im thinking to install a GPS in there. Its a 1990

Above your radio would be the HVAC controls/buttons. Is your car missing the HVAC controls?

Above the HVAC controls would be warning indicators, ie, Service Engine Soon, ABS Active, Service Ride Control, etc.
