A "MAP" Sensor...

I'm trouble shooting my 90 and in the FSM under section "engine cranks but will not run" it states that a defective "MAP" sensor my cause a no start or a stall after start (seems to be my problem). Anyone know where its located, I'm kind of lost looking in this huge manual.

Oh, one other thing, what is the "MEM-CAL"? Might be needing to replace that or the ECM. Thanks...

MAP is an acronym for Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, on a speed density fuel injection system it is the primary fuel control input to the ECM. It is also used on mass airflow systems for barometric or altitude readings and as backup should the MAF (mass air flow) sensor fail.

The MAP is located on the passenger side of the plenum, just above the schrader valve on the fuel rail.
It will be about a 2" x 3" black rectangular box with a 4 wire connector attaching to the bottom. If you reach under, you should feel the vacuum line that attaches it to the plenum. You might check the line for cracking.
