;) I want to change the exhaust system on my 50th...I have called Borla and got info on the Stinger and the Streetmaster. Anybody have any info on either of these or others?
Thanks
Norb

The Borla Stingers are to loud for me. I have Corsa Pace Car with Pro Tips that I just love. Quiet cruising and loud at WOT.

Here is a vote for the Corsa Touring exhaust - little quieter than the Pace Car during non-WOT, but same great sound at WOT. I have had the Corsa Touring cat-back since July, 2003 and am completely satisfied - fit and finish is great.

Corsa Pace Car the only way to go, quiet at cruise and super at WOT99 Pewter vert. oak top & int. Donaldson, Corsa, Chrome ZO6, Full Screens, Vette Essentials Leather, Flush Tail Lights, Anodized inst. bezels

I have a Bassani and I just love the sound, just a nice rumble, until you nial the gas.

Corsa Indy, just took them off and the car just don't sound right. Pickup the new Commemorative Edition tomorrow, Corsas will be on for the week end.

Hey Norb,

I also have the Corsas and liked them when I put them on initially.
Adding full length headers really woke the "Indies" up.
The sound at idle is deeper and when I go through the gears, the Corsas sing!! They are quiet at cruising.

I have heard the Stingers on ZO6's and regular C5s. The are quite louder and deeper than the Indies. I've known people that have removed them after a few months because they thought the sound was too intrusive.

All these opinions are just that..other people's opinions.
Because you asked.
If you get the opportunity, listen to as many different exhausts as possible.
You're hopefully only going to change your exhaust once. Make sure you know what you're in for.

Best of luck to you and your vette.

Regards,

Pedro

Thanks for the advice , probably will go with the Corsa Indy as you said...I just hadn't heard them all, but had heard that some were TOO loud!!

Thanks...you guys have really helped...seems like Corsa are better!

Thanks, sounds good...had a 2001 pewter....love that color!!!

Got the Borla stingers, greatb sound, fit and finish. Love the huge double cannon look much better that the 4-tip look of the corsa's. Great sound at idle.

It's all preference. I STRONGLY suggest you listen to Corsa's, Borla's, etc. I personally didn't like the 'boat like' sound that the Corsa's have. But then again the Stingers are pretty loud. I hate to keep harping on it, but it truly is all preference. They all have good returns on HP, so it's more sound and looks than anything. I got the quad tip oval stingers on mine.

You should try to find the GHL system to listen to. I just put it on and really like it. It has a muscle car sound, but you can cruise the highway with no resonance. I also put in a Magnaflow X-pipe.

Im with vette84us. :upthumbs . Wicked sound! I get a lot of complements on the sound.

I have the SuperSprint Oversize 2 X Ø 63,5mm system with K&N air filter. Adds some HP, but sounds terrific! Soft rumble inside until you nail it then gives off an exciting deep throated roar. Once at speed, nice & quiet again.

I have the Corsa Pace Car exhaust and love it. Same comments about the sound at cruise and WOT. I also have the Tigershark tips. They are equally spaced across the back and take up the entire opening.

No x-pipe for me. I love the popping and rumbling when I let off the gas. However, do listen to many different exhausts maybe even go for a ride if possible to hear what they sound like from inside the car.

Mine has custom made LT headers, x-pipe, no cats, and Corsa Touring exhaust with the GTR tips. Sounds great. I went with the Touring because with my setup the Pace Car would have been way too loud. I can email you a picture with the tips if you want to see it.:beer

I agree. GHL is the next way I am going to go.

Borlas and B&Bs, although sound AWESOME, have too much resonance for my tastes.

GHL has none and Corsa has none,
