What kind of Exhaust System???

It's all in what YOU like. I have B&B Bullets and like them for a lot of reasons. If you want LOUD and a straight through exhaust, they are. If it were an everyday driver, I would have the stock set up still on.

The best thing about them to me is, no one ever taunts me to street race and the tailgating has all but stopped....no, I can't explain the tailgating cessation. They do make the car sound like a "bad boy". Just another free opinion. Have a Vette day...;)

Dose the conversion to the CORSA exhaust systems

get ridd of the c5 exhaust jingle referenced in their service bullitins? Thanks

Sometimes when I had my original exhaust on, it would sound like jingling. However, when I would be outside my car and have a friend rev it a bit there was nbothing but normal exhaust sounds. I chalked it up to a frequency sounding about like a jingle if that makes any sense. Since I have changed over it still sounds like it is jingling sometimes but I know nothing is rubbing or twisted or anything like that. So I just chalk it up to the sound frequency again.

It doesn't happen all that often so I can put up with it.

I have installed the Remus. You can see my car on remus italia web site.

Hi Norb,

Just installed Corsa Pace Cars with Tiger Shark Tips. Looks Great and sounds even better. Wails at WOT silent at cruise. Thanks to this board I feel I made the best choice.

Keep in mind however, Whats noise to one person could be music to another.

I monitored this board over a period of about a week and went back into the archives and reached a concensus that way.

Good Luck

Never thought about a modify to my Exhaust until reading this thread.

Thanks for the info, think I'll go with the Corsa!

Yellow 2002 Germany,

Mine jingles too, with the old exhaust and with the new. Put my foot on the clutch and it goes away. Hope its not a throwout bearing. Been doing that since the car is new. Maybe its a normal rattle. Maybe we should start a new thread to get a concensus on this potential problem.

Do a search first on the rattle.

The thread about the stick rattle has been going on for as long as they have had the six speed out. Besides the bad knees and having the choice of which I drive, that rattle is a major reason why I don't have a 6 speed in the C5. Having enjoyed the 98 as an auto I thought I should try a 6 speed this time, but an afternoon of driving one with 1,800 miles on it put me back in an automatic. My 72 doesn't rattle that much, and my spring is broke on the reverse lock out.

Dad,

I'm not aware of the stick rattle problem. Are you saying that the noise I'm hearing at idle in neutral, clutch out, is the stick ratteling, but goes away when clutch is depressed. I've always associated these kinds of noises with throwout bearings.

I hope your right. Knowing its only the stick and not some major problem at least makes me feel better.

Thanks for the info.

There have been quite a few previuos threads concerning manual transmission noise. I believe that the noise is due to a few factors. The transmission is built for strength. The way the gears are cut seems to matter. Then the transmission case is made of aluminum and transmits the noise well. There is not a lot of noise insulation that would isolate the cabin from the gear noise. I would suggest that you do a search on some previous threads. Here is an example: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23556&highlight=transmission+noise

Rocketj,

I can't say what you're hearing; only what I heard and I didn't like the sound. Both the Z06 and the convertible that I drove had the rattle, and both were 6 speeds. To me when you run a long shift rod along a big long aluminum tube you have a great chance of noise transfer. If you put a guide on it to keep the noise down, you hinder the shift motion. So the shift rod is left out there to develop whatever harmonic it picks up from the rest of the car while it's running. Not trying to be right, I just don't drive something that I don't like, and I didn't like the stick rattle.

The quad Borlas do it for me, but if you have to deal with their customer service as I did with an installation problem, you may be disappointed, or even outraged.

Thanks to my local installer it all worked out, no thanks at to Borla.

Corsa Tiger Shark

I have to throw in my 3-5 cents worth here... I have the Corsa X-Pipe with the Pace Car/Tiger Shark tips... I did not want the Big-Block sound, but was looking for more of that exotic sound (I know that's cliche')

I love the sound at WOT, and I do not mind the *pop* when I back off. The sound just goes with the look of my C5. It's got a nice tone inside the cabin.

We are already thinking of ways to get another Vette in the family, so maybe this one will sound more like a big block. Donna wants to get another C5, I was leaning towards a C4, maybe a C3 again (miss mine!) The deal is... this next one will be a daily driver, as the current one is close to it... time will tell...

COME ON LOTTERY!!!!! :L

I have the Corsa Classic catback exhaust and Corsa crossover pipe. I love the way it sounds.:cool
