What kind of Transmission Fluid?

Hey everyone,

My 1982 service manual calls for Dexron II fluid in my 700R4. Can I assume that fluid is backwards compatible? (i.e. I can use fluid that meets Dexron III, IV, V, VI and it will be fine?)

Yes they are. If you pick up a quart of Dexron III it will say that it replaces dexron II somewhere on there.

Just don't use the FORD type.
