What rear axel on my car?

I got a -88 coupe with automatic tranny. It got the G92 Performance axel with 3.07 gears.

Now to the question, is it a Dana 36 or 44?

Since it is an auto it should be a D-36. You can get gear sets for the D-36 up to 3.73:1 in the aftermarket. Much past 3.73's and the ring gear gets too thin. If you are wanting to make some good horse power and put sticky tires on the car, then an upgrade to the D-44 would be a good choice. With it you can get just about any rear ratio that you want.
