What spot to jack my '72 up at?

This may be a dumb question, but where should I put my floor jack to jack up my car? I see the holes under the rocker panels where the factory jack goes for a tire change. Is that the frame rail? I don't want to put my jack up through the floor. Also, where is a good spot to put my jack stands once the car is up?

I have a '78, but I assume it would be the same in your case. I just put a block of wood on the pad of the jack and jack right where the factory jack point is. I just do one side at a time and put a jack stand also right on that rail and then lower it. I don't see anything wrong with that; it can definitely support the weight, but if I'm wrong, I'll hear about it soon! :cool

I use the frame with a block of wood on the floor jack pad. I place my jack stands on the frame behind front tires and just in front of the rear tires. Just watch out for putting excessive strain on the frame. Such as jacking the side of the car up from the center of the frame.
