Recently acquired a used ZO6 equipped with non-run-flat tires. To my surprise the factory flat tire repair kit is missing. I know it included a tire pump to reinflate the tire, but.......

Did the GM factory ZO6 flat tire repair kit include an aeresol tire sealant or a tire plug kit??

Thanks.

I bought mine used, so I am not 100% sure. Mine had a pump and some sealer goo, but no plugs. I bought a tire plug kit and threw in a pair if needle nosed pliers.

I have it too, maybe it could be used to remove the screw currently embedded in my tire.

On an unrelated note: That Darth Vader hot air baloon is quite possibly the coolest damn thing i have ever seen in my life.

Mine was missing too. However I had the dealer order me one as part of the deal when I bought the car(used). I know it was pricey, and it has a small compressor and a bottle of GM tire sealant. The compressor of course plugs in to the lighter, and has a small guage on it. Everything comes in a small black carrying case. Hope this helps. God Bless.

The answer is yes, it has a fix a flat bottle included. It is not an aerosol, but a mix of sealant chemicals. You have to shake the bottle well, then squeeze the stuff out through a clear tube with the female valve stem connector on the end. It also comes with a couple of extra valve stem valves in a small plastic bag.

The product info for the ContiComfortKit repair kit from the Tire Rack (link provided) advises that the tire sealant WILL damage the factory Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors. My local GM Dealer advised the same, that type of sealant used with the C5 run-flat tire pressure sensors with cause them to malfunction.

Where did you get the info that the sensors would not be damaged?

I stand corrected:

I don't remember seeing this statement when I bought it last year:

Note: This product cannot be used on vehicles equipped with direct tire pressure monitoring sensors in the wheels. Use of this product on these vehicles could result in damage to the sensor inside the wheel. Please contact your sales specialist at The Tire Rack for more information.

I thought I read just the opposite. It sucks getting old.

I imagine it would damage the tire pressure sensors, this is really a C5ZO6 item anyways and we all know there are no tire pressure sensors on them.

Don't waste your money on the GM poorly engineered and costly (~$400) kit. Just carry a plug kit and some fix-a-flat cans--AND--belong to AAA. I put my kit away for some future owner and have enabled the TPS system in my '03 Z. Best mod I've done. So now I just carry a plug kit and a small pump AND AAA Plus.:)

$400.00?? hOlY mOlY!! :eek:hnoes That $600.00 toilet seat almost seems resonable now lol!
Like any little thing for Corvette way friggin' overpriced as usual. Yup, some tire sealant and a combination vacuum/emergency flasher/air pump/ tool kit from K-Mart :L
