Hi LT-1VETTE
I also have a 72 That is undergoing a restoration.I used to have a set of Dayton Wire wheels that had 72 spokes in them but I think I'm going to return to the stock rally's.I'm going to try and insert the pictures in this thread but in case that doesn't work why don't you send me an e-mail at rvazquez@snet.net and I'll send them directly to you

I have American Racing rims. I get a fair amount of compliments on them...

great looking car! I am looking at the american racing wheels myself. I love the classic look, and have heard the are good value for the money. I may end up with the TT-II's, in 17 x 8. hanks for the pic's

I just bought a set of TTIIs for my LT1. I have not gotten them yet but they are 17X8. I went to see a lot of Vettes with custom wheels and these are the ones I like the most.

TT-II's interference on '72

Does anyone know if the Torq-Thrust II's will fit my 72 ' without spacers? I beleive the backspacing is 3 3/4. Also does anyone know if Boyd Coddington Smoothies will fit my 72'? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ron

The 15s should fit. I have seen many others running 15 16 and 17 inch TTIIs with 4 inch backspacing and they don't hit the calipers.

Thanks. My current backspacing is 3 3/4 and my tires are 265/50 R15's on 9 1/2" rims. The tires bulge a little and come pretty close to the brake bracket that is on the trailling arm. If I go with a 10" rim and a 4" backspace will I need to run a smaller tire like a 255? Do you have any idea of the tire and rim combination of the others that you have seen running TT-II's?

Thanks,

Ron
