What width rims do I need?

I have an 88 C4 coupe with Yokohama tires:
175/40/ZR17 98W

Do I need 17's with 8.5 or 9.5 width? Thanks!

With 175's you need about a 4.5 inch rim!!Sure your's aren't 275's??

You are correct. Old age is getting me. My tires are P275/40/ZR17 98W

The 275/40/17 requires 9.5 width rims.
There is a C4 suspension, tire and wheel guide in the Model Center that Hib put together that may help. I just can't find the link to it at the moment.
