Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

What years did Corvette make the digital dash?

Well that is what The Fonz said it's all about, looking cool.

What can I say, Aaaaaaaay! :upthumbs

I love the Atari dash. My friends like it to. They ask how old the car is and are kind of amazed that technology like that existed in the 80's!

When you really think about it though, it is really not that bad. Sure there are some LED's and seven segment displays but it really wans't ahead of its time in my thinking. It just seems like corvette always goes the extra mile. Personally they are awesome, but then again I haven't had to work on mine. Frankly I am dreading the day.

Light years ahead

I agree corvette has always been light years ahead. Why else would the dash look like a star wars cockpit?

Gotta say it is pretty cool though! Wouldn't want it any other way.

Just curious. Have any of you heard about changing the display color. I think I heard there is an inlay or something you can put in? Anyone?

This quoted from the website.

"There's alot of interest from owners but probably not enough to justify mass production :-(
So basicly we're just stuck with whatever we can find. Our first choice was the old colored transparency film. Unfortunately, even searching the web came up empty...they apparently just dont make it anymore!!!
We used red lens repair tape the first time around but found it "muddied up" the display. To get a sharper image we later switched to red wrap(the stuff you use for gift baskets) and layered it until the desired color was achieved. The wrap comes in many colors for each holiday...red and green at christmas, pink and green and blue at easter, orange at halloween, etc.
At first we worried about it heating up to hot....but no problems! "
