I am getting ready to upgrade my shocks. I have the FE1 suspension. I was about to get the Koni Sports, but I was told that the QA1 is better. I was wondering if anyone verify this.

I'm thinking about those too. The QA1s and the HALs are one and the same units, the company either changed names or merged or something a while ago.

I like the ease of adjustability, allowing you to set them for the dragstrip, the street, or for the road without removal. If I wasn't thinking of drag shocks for the front of my car, I'd probably look into them anyway.

Are you thinking about the Koni's or the QA1's?

HI there,
I can comment on these, based on installation on 02 ZO6 and a 00 coupe.
First, the aluminum body is alot lighter than the stock shocks, no matter c4 or c5.
12 position damping is really great, however, the first 3 settings, and the last 3 are almost unusable, given the softest, and the hardest. The 6 in between are very usable, based on driving style, and you can feel the difference very easily.
Custom tailoring the shocks, to give a 90-10 drag setup is easy.
I like the quality, and design.
The 'get what you pay for' is correct here.

Muchas gratias Paul! That's what I've heard and now you've confirmed my opinion of them. :upthumbs

Thanks allot. I will be placing the oder for the QA1's this weekend.

Paul,

What do you think of the QA1 Proma stars (think that is the name) alogn with using coil overs and ditching the composite spring? I know you can get a QA1 coil over set-up pieced together for about $700

Damn! That would be nice. Let me know if you can.

I have info at home.. I will dig it up tonight if I get the chance

Hi there,
Well, honestly, I am not experienced with the coil over version of these shocks. However, please consider the following. The fibreglass leaf spring will weigh less than the coil over type springs in this setup. But, the shocks will weigh less than the stock ones.
This is the tradeoff that you will be contending with.
Performance of these I cannot comment on.

If anyone is interested in the coil over Promastar or Ultraride converison for 88-96 C4's let me know. I have done the test fitting and will be installing my coil over conversion this weekend. I'll have an updated parts list and illustrated instructions once I do the install.

Thank you for the very kind offer Torch. I hope someone tales you up on it. :upthumbs
