Is it a package below Z06?

I did google this but did not really find anything besides FRC vettes.

Fixed Roof Coupe.........(no t-top)

The fixed roof coupe was offered in 1999 and 2000. Several years before the C5 came out, there was an idea floating around to offer a lower cost Corvette with less content and fewer options. Some called it the "Billy Bob" Corvette. The result was the FRC, but it did not cost very much less and it did not sell that well. It was then converted to the performance Corvette, the Z06.

Why do they sell for more then?

If you do see one selling for more, it's because it's the Z06 as DRTH VTR mentioned. The standard FRCs from 99 & 2k shouldn't be bringing a premium, or at least they weren't when I was looking for my vette.

Unless you're looking for a nassau blue FRC ;) . Some of the prices that Dale published looked like that rather unique combination is going for a premium.

I wouldn't be surprised if the FRC's begin to hold their value better simply because there are a lot fewer of them.

If I am not mistaken the FRC did not have the slanted back window of the 2001 coupe but rather a line like the convertible only with a hardtop. O think a lot of people liked the look of the FRC as opposed to the slanted glass even though the coupe can actually carry luggage!

That is true. It has the roofline of the Z06.

The FRC is a PRE Z06.. 346 cid 345 hp 350 trq. 6spd 3.42 rear and came with some options. Z51, 12 disc cd to name a couple.

I have a 2000 Nassau Blue 1 of 189 made in that color. And yes it can carry a lot of things, more than most think.. Just ask my wife.. LOL

Hi Bender -

As mentioned - the Fixed Roof Coupe was introduced by GM in 1999 as an entry level car suitable for tracking.

It was only offered with a 6 speed - no auto could be had, and it was limited as to option availablility as compared to the coupes and verts.

The only interior option was black.

These were relatively limited in production volume, and as such may bring a slight premium over a "standard" coupe, particularly if the buyer wants the FRC look of the Z06.

Since I own both a coupe and a Z06, I do not find that the coupe can carry more cargo - if it can, this additional cargo would be blocking your view out of the rear window anyway - think about it guys....

The Z06 was introduced in 2001 and built on the FRC body style (which is said to be more ridgid than the vert or coupe) and added more power (385 in 2001 - 405 in 2002 thru 2004) and was built using lighter materials (glass, less sound deadening insulation, no power passenger seat, titanium cat back) and had more agressive gearing (3:45 rear and a specific 6 speed trans).

Sport seats were never available in any FRC - and that's a shame - that is one area where the coupes and verts have it all over an FRC.

best regards -
