Need your help again folks, thanks for all the replies a couple months ago when I inquired about a 96. Looks like the time is here for me to make the plunge, I have found a very clean immaculate blk on blk 1996 C-4 Coupe with 15,000 miles on it. It has all the normal options, (except just a AM/FM stereo ??????) , 17 in rims, & 4spdAuto. I can get it for $$22,000 with a drivetrain 12 mth. warranty, ..............this seems a little high, is it ?????

It seems a little high to me. I do not know prices on C4's, but It would be possible to get a C5 for about that.

price

Just got a 96 CE for 19500 AT with 20000 miles but asking price was 22000. If you are in DC price is close but I would try to get them down a little. Check autotrader.com to get idea of prices in your area.

Too high IMO. At least it would be in my area. My '96 was purchased in Feb for $18,900 with 32k, VERY clean, electronic climate control, auto, 2 tops, Bose CD.

Just looked at the Kelly Blue Book site (www.kbb.com) and it shows a 96 coupe in Excellent condition with a Private Party Purchase price of $14,025 and a Dealer retail of $16,725.

tom...

thank all, I suspected as much. I feel I should offer them $20,500. However they are a "upscale" dealership, BMW's, Ferrai's etc. So they'll prolly ignore me, but it's worth a shot.

Keep looking!! There are many, many great Corvettes out there!

For a base LT1 auto 96 coupe, $22k is too high.
I think offering $20.5 is too much also. Then again, it depends on the area and the availability of comparable Vettes in the area.
Check out www.rogerscorvettecenter.com if you'd like an idea of what a absolutely perfect 96 is worth. They are listing a nice white coupe like this one for only $17900.

price

The low mileage is the kicker that is what is holding the price up.I think a low mileage 96 At with everything is proably worth what they are asking if you are buying in the DC metro area. As with anything if the market refects similiar pricing in the area then that is what you will have to pay especially from a dealer. Private parties will sell for less because no overhead. The 12 month warraanty adds 1g to price. Again try autotrader.com because you can focus in on area within miles of your zipcode

I just saw a 96 CE silver on autotrader for $20K with 21??? miles on it in Fairfax VA.
