I used to pit for a buddy of mine who held the full body world record in the mid seventies for six straight years. He had a 61 Vette that ran low low sevens. He dominated the class so much that he would raise the wheelie bars up and put on a show for the crowds. Took me for a run in Vegas, I think I'm still shaking from that experience.

8.45- 162.90 in a NHRA S/C 69 Camaro flat-out without a throttle-stop. THE MOST FUN I EVER HAD,(WITH MY CLOTHS ON);LOL ;LOL

Mine. Last time I outran the Dixie State Patrol. Have no idea why they were chasing me.....;LOL

Back in the 80's a friend of mine had a 69 Camaro with a 427 big block in it.. He's a mechanic and WOW can he build a motor.. that car would move, all i could remember was hanging on to anything i could with him slaming those gears in that 4 speed. Never got a chance to look over at the MPH:L ..

Other than that most likely one of my Vettes.:D

Good topic here.

Thanks T>T>

Now that's what I like to hear!!! :upthumbs Nice work Tony. Something tells me BV has never been past 55 MPH! ;LOL

Some people are afraid to get their garage queens out and drive them. I just don't get it. At least BV has gotten his ride up to double nickels!

The fastest ride I have ever been in is mine! 12 second quarter miles, and 160MPH out on an empty road way out in the desert.

Heres one on them,

Your right again Slong

Your right again sir >> BV wouldn't get his Z above 55 MPH because first he would have to get his seat adjusted so he could reach the pedals correctly (being SO short) and second he would have to get the approval from his MOM!:D

Iron Cross:

I've seen that car! Detroit Dragway, Detroit Autorama, etc.
Wasn't there a Walt's Puffer II?

T-38 jet trainer - Mach 1.15 at altitude

Close to the ground -
-- A-7 - 535 knots with the radar altimeter reading between 0 and 10 FEET
-----That's a real rush!

163 in our old 98 coupe - fastest I've seen driving.

Your correct, however there was a total of nine different Walt`s Puffers as gas and Fuel Altereds and Roadsters. Including a AA/FC That became Willie Borsch`s last ride. Some of the other race cars can be viewed at http://www.nitroalley.net Heres a picture of Walt`s Puffer II

Slong, that is too cooool, a Vette in the 7's. That's just plain awesome. I haven't been over 100 in the current car yet but the fastest was 140+ in my '72 LT-1 in 1972. Sure doesn't compare with anyone in this string but on those skinny tires (comparative to today) it was a thrill ride. Good thread! ;)

Tony, the speedometer prolly only read about 35mph. You were screaming for him to slow down then. BTW, when did you get a Vette? I thought you had a blue plastic model with defective paint on it. Have a nice day in a hot, dry, Dallas traffic jamb, :L

Z_OH_6....give us a break now!!

We all know you do over a hundred over Deal's Gap!! The locals say you do over 140 on the Cherohala!! You're just too modest with your talent. ;)

Well, ok, it was actually 110 on the Dragon and 165 on the Cherohala Skyway, but it was only that ONCE! ;LOL

Z_OH_6,
I've changed my mind.....I don't want a ride in the Z on my next trip to Maryville.....what part of the Dragon can you do 110? Maybe on the road beside the lake before you get up in the hills???

My car is the fastest ive ever been in. Fastest ive gone is 130 racing a harley on rt 24. I wish my impala was a sleeper but its only a 283!

Thanks Z OH 6 and everyone else. Nothing like the need for some speed. So where has BV been hiding. Did his mother take away his PC? ;LOL

And real nice work Tony!!!
