What's this switch?

There is a small toggle swith to the left side of the radio in my '79, with a small green light. Is this stock, or was it added? If it is stock, what does it do?

I have the same toggle switch on mine next to the heater control. It is for the rear window defroster.

Now that you mention it, I think it was next to the heater control, not the radio.

Thanks for the info - now I just have to leave it sit out some night to frost the window, so I can make sure that the defroster works.

I was wondering how long that was going to stand, before someone spoke up against intentionally leaving a 'Vette out overnight.

In all seriousness, with the weather the way it has been, I'm sure I will have an opportunity to test out the defroster, before long.
