Whats this under my seat?

i am in the process of putting new insulation under my carpet and ran into something strange. Under the passengers seat there looks like some kind of access door that is sealed with a redish bondo looking stuff. Is this factory or has something been done under here? It looks ok and there doesn't seem to be anything that it is trying to conceal. :confused

That's a shield for the original cat installation. The cat was directly under that seat and there should have been an extra piece of insulation (foil backed) between that plate and the carpet.....

Thats it Ken! The previous owner removed the cat. and converted to true duel exhaust so I never thought of that. I swear, there is nothing that can't be discovered here on CAC!!!!!!!!!!!!
