How do you know when to replace the wheel bearings? I have not noticed any problems or sounds but is this a routine repair after so many miles?

You can look up the symptoms here as a tech search but generally you should hear a noise due to slap at the rear. When the rear is off the ground grabbing the tire at top/bottom and firmly push/pull should indicate play if they're worn...

If its not broke don't fix it.

Like the previous post said, Raise it off the ground,
try the 12-6 & the 3-9 o'clock movement on the wheel ,
if there is no play there's probably no problem;)

That's right, save your money--there will be something to fix sooner or later, you don't have to look for it, It'll find you.:L
