Wheel restoration specialist in Midwest?

Hey All,

I'm looking to have the wheels on my '86 Z-51 restored to remove some minor scrapes & dings. I'm new to the Midwest so I have no idea where to start looking here. A shop that can refinish with the original paint code is what I'm really looking for, as I'm likely to do only two wheels and I'd like them to match the originals when done.

Specifically, I'm in the Kansas City area.

There is a place here in Oklahoma City that's been repairing wheels for many years. I actually have my '89 wheels in to them right now having the curb checks from the previous owner repaired and the original finish redone.

Once I get them back, which I anticipate to be Wednesday, I'll post a report on the quality of the work if you're interested and pictures as well.

I also live in Kansas City. Check out Hub Cap and Wheel Store, (913) 432 -0002. I have been in their shop a few times and seem to recall that they do restoration. They are located in Kansas City Kansas near I-635. Can't vouch for their work, however, but you could ask them for some satisfied customers with Corvettes and see if they can produce some you could call.

thanks. This is the third recommendation for the HC&WS. The first two (on another board) mentioned the shop near St. Louis. Glad to hear there's one in K.C. I really want to visit the shop that'll do the work, but StL is about 7 hours away.

Now what HUGELY sux, is that I just got back from K.C., and was within a few minutes of 635 & Shawnee. DOH! Oh well, another 3-hour round trip, but for a worthy cause.
