Wheels on 84 Vette

I bought a set of tires and wheels used and wheel rotation does not match tire rotation.He says it does not matter about left side,right side.Is this true:ugh

Well it matters on my 1989. Looking at an image of the 1984 wheels, they appear directional. I think all C4s wheels (rims) are angle vented to improve cooling of the brakes. So they need to be on the correct side to work properly. Most performance tires are directional as well and need to be matched so the arrows on the tires match the proper spinning direction which is going forward in drive.
