Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

When is a Callaway a Callaway?

Before getting involved with Callaway Cars, I made a trip to the Old Lyme factory to ask this very question. My white 94 was a pursuit of a dream that took 11 years to fully complete.

According to Callaway when you have the Aerobody or the Motor your VIN / name are registered in the Callaway registry. I think it is a matter of personal opinion and I can see both sides. The thread describing the motor serial number changes could be viewed by some as a reason to buy a car with all the mods except the engine. This gives you the factory heart ready for a fresh Callaway breath....

I have both and of course hands down fullly loaded is the way to go but Callaway registers them with Aerobody or motor into the registry...

Anyway you look at it if you are supporting Callaway from word of mouth all the way to ownership of multiples your part of the team and Callaway appreciates everyones .02 or $200k+. If it is from Callaway it is a Callaway.

Personally...a TT Speedster is the TRUE Callaway to me (next to the sledgehammer of course) and unfortunately that I do not have............yet (looking for a loan of $300k plus for Barrett Jackson this week, anyone have some spare change ;) )

Best Regards to all

I don't spend much time in this forum, but this thread caught my eye.

In my opinion, a body kit without engine work is just another form of ricer disease.

I really must start appreciating ole' #87-027 (Vert) a bit more! I had never even seen one 'til we (son and I) bought it. My job (Chief, In-Flight Refueler) has kept me too busy to enjoy it much lately. Mark and I made it to Carlise '03 (drove "2 TURBOS" up from NC), and really enjoyed all the cars. On an enlisted mans pay with a daughter in a private college and a 16 year old son right behind her, I feel real lucky to have it!! I enjoy monitoring CAC dialog - don't respond to often tho'. Great forum. "2 TURBOS" is black, black top, graphite interior (27,XXX miles) w/black Grand Sport wheels and great big tires by the way :) You all "fly" safe and I promise too also! God bless our troops!

CarVette,

Welcome to the CAC! :upthumbs

As you have seen a great bunch of folks and mostly fellow Callaway Owners. I have yet to see a Callaway I wouldn't want to own (with the only exception of a couple that were wrecked beyond repair). They are each unique in their own way, though I must admit that I favor the Aerobody cars, and each Powerfully Engineered.

Don't be shy.... post some pics and stay in touch.
