When will digital OnStar get here?

At a "meet the techs" session at my dealer's shortly after I bought my C6, a GM rep in attendance told me that the C6 will be getting digital OnStar in the fall, with an upgrade (not a free upgrade, but an upgrade) made available for existing C6 owners.

I am willing to pay for the upgrade, as I will be able to use my Verizon Wireless account with OnStar for very convenient hands-free operation.

Does anyone have fresher info about the ETA of this upgrade? Thanks much.

An earlier thread on another forum stated September 1 for the upgrade by GM dealers. I marked my calendar.

I think the "deal" is free upgrade if you commit to 3 years of service.
