I have an '03 EB Z06 and would like to find a custom hoodliner with the Z06 405hp emblem on it. Has anyone seen anything like this? I have be scouring the web and can't find anything.

Thanks,
Pat

Have you been to Ecklers or to Corvette America? I thought they had these items.............what happens if you Google "corvette hood liners"?????

Not to hijack a thread, but is the hood liner necessary for anything but looks? I would guess removing it would result in more engine noise. Any other drawbacks?

The only benefit of removal I can think of is weight reduction, and maybe more of a competition look.

I have seen some magazine articles with custom painted hood liners. I should think a Z06 emblem would be easy for the right painter. I think they were often done by the artist type, rather than the car painter type.

it also insulates heat from getting to the hood, after driving for a while feel the hot air coming out of the wheel wells, that heat would normally radiate up thru the hood but the insulation prevents it. The additional heat might cause the pain and or clear coat to bubble or discolor over time. just a thought.

I had not thought of the hood being exposed to the heat. Good thought!

I had an electrical fire in my 98.
The only damage was the alternator and hood blanket, no body or paint.

Paula Hambrick of Paula's Artwork in TX does a lot of hoodliners for the show circuit, and personally owns and drives a C5. Here is a sample of her work:

Oh yah Paula does GREAT work - not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Here's what she did for me:

That's gotta be good for 10 or 15 hp! :L

Dang, Rich. Just dang.
Every time you post, I have to add something else to my wish list. You've done some very nice things to your Z06.

Hood liner

to 1HotZ06.....could you tell me what the hood liner cost completed? It looks great!
Is this a simple project to remove, and put on the replacement? I've wanted one of these for my 02 vert, and I'm getting in the mood to spend some $ on a work of art like this!

Patrick - Thanks! Much appreciated! :beer
DaBoo1 - Also thanks! :beer Each of Paula's "creations" is custom priced. Is it enough to say that a basic liner with painted logo runs about $450 (incl $60 shipping and a $140 new liner) and that mine was considerably more?

Removal/installation was a snap. Auto parts stores sell a clip removal tool or use a large 2-tine grill/bbq fork to pry/pop them off. Reuse the clips if you get them off without breaking or buy clips at dealer or auto part store. Took about 20 minutes total.

Thanks for all the advice. I am looking for something a little more conservative. All I want is the Z06/405 logo in the center, preferably embroidered. I thought that someone would have made it.

Thanks,Pat

Hood liner decal

A member of our corvette club, purchased a very nice decal, and applied it to the C5 logo impression on his hood liner, and it looks great. You can get them color matched to your car. The decal is made for this purpose. It was easy to remove the hood liner and retainers, and attach the decal. Check out ebay item 7983149564 (use the search). David Harrington from Cabot, AR sells these, and his email is dotpro@flash.net.

Check it out!

Mine was done by Paula and it is just the emblem painted!

I purchased a C5 decal from ebay, that was color matched to my vette, for $34.95 + shipping. I took the hood liner off the car, applied the decal (was simple to do), and then re-attached the hood liner. It looks great! I drove the car over 300 miles, and wondered if the heat would effect it, but there was not one problem. This is an inexpensive way to add a great look under the hood with low cost.
