I am doing some research, because ultimately I would like to put a super ram on my 383. Well I have a completely ported out plenum with siamesed runners, and a bigmouth intake. Complete port work on the heads with larger valves.

I am still running 48MM TB. I am looking at getting a 52MM TB, but my concern is if wont matter because the MAF cannot flow enough to warrant the larger TB.

I found a source that says the stock maf, with removed screens will flow 658 cfm. The stock TB flows 822 cfm. I would like to get the 52, but I am totally unsure.

Is the flow number for the maf, the maximum amount to pass through, or the maximum amount it can measure passing through?
