When left in the rain (not often) I get a leak on the passenger side. It drips out of the plastic pillar cover. I removed the cover and looked and it seems to come out of the pillar itself about half way down. I tried covering every seam with sealer, still leaks. Anyone else run into this?

:cry

My 88 leaked on the drivers side and ran down the A pillar. It was from the trim on the outside of the windshield. I bought a tube of black silicone, ran a piece of tape just parallel to the trim and the glass. Put a small bead of silicone under the trim and glass.. the tape will keep it neat. Smooth it out with your finger and then pull off the tape. That makes a neat job and you can’t see the silicone on the glass. This stopped that leak. Now I still have the one from the gasket and targa top.

Your weatherstriping that runs up the A-pillars and over the top of the windshield could also have dry rotted. Also it tends to rip where the top bolts into place in the corners as if they are not removed they can get stuck to the top and ripped when it is taken off. Smear some dielectric grease on it. :)
