Want to get new intake for my C5, looking at Halltech Stinger
any opinions or other recomendations

I had the blackwing, nice filter because it snaps into place like factory. I took it off and installed variram, my main concern was water w/variram, but I bought a new car and the vette doesnt see rain now. If interested i'm selling the old set up look in the used parts section.

The Blackwing sure seems to be the intake of choice.

Have had the vararam for 18 months now, driven through the worst rain/wind storms with no water damage, just don't turn the vette into a boat (meaning submerging the vents) and it'll be fine.

Also FWIW I've seen tests with the vararam vs other intake and the vararam has won. Hence their guarantee that it'll produce faster 1/4 mile and more hp over any system.

Bioscache2 and I installed ours at just about the same time. My experience reflects his. I had a 0.3 second and 3MPH gain in the 1/4 mile.

I formerly ran a Blackwing. It's a good filter as is the Halltech. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

I have Jim Hall's SSM Stinger, can't really say I notice a big difference in performance but it sure looks impressive, it is huge.

Blackwing here. Easy install, noticable performance gain, and it looks cool to. I was torn b/w the stinger and the blackwing.
