Hey all. I'm finally getting to a point where I can finally light the candle. I was wondering if I should consider non-stock sparkplugs for my rebuild. I've up the compression from 8.2 to 9.6 and I'm running a 383 stroker now. Would the standard heat range and gap plug be the one to use? Or should I consider something else?

Thanks!

I'd begin with same brand & heat range as you've been using ... so long as you've been getting good efficiency & service from them. If you've been keeping up with the color of the insulators ... then you already have a baseline to compare to ... your carb may (or may not) need tweeking with bigger motor. Also, you may (or may not) need to reduce the gap on your plugs due to increased CR ... >CR may (or may not) tend to blow the candle out ... but stay with what you've been running to begin with ... reduce gap only if it seems to need it.

More cubic inches may (or may not) make the carb to go lean ... a lot will depend on the cam.
