does anyone have any tips or tricks on keeping that white crap off of polished alumium did my valve covers a while back now I'm thinking of painting them

Normally waxing with a good Carnuba wax will seal the aluminum from oxidizing, but since you live in an area of the country that is normally warm and humid, I would recommend putting a clear coat over the polished aluminum.

How does the heat of the engine effect the wax ?
