I can't find the builder identification on mine. Passenger side or driver side? Hard to see or is it obvious?

You should see it here: bPif8wH.jpg

It ISN'T a Z07 package ( I wish I had it for my racing contests). I thought ALL Z06s had it but I think you are right; there is nothing there and it's not a Z07. Bummer.

yepper, Z07-optioned only

The engine for the Stg.1 Z06 car is built in Tonowonda, NY; however, if one orders the "Z07 Performance Package" along with the Stg.3 Aero on his Z06 then the engine for that car will be hand-built in Bowling Green, KY by one of the GM Specialist and will be tagged with the builders name. GM assumes that if one is ordering those options at that much additional cost involved they are planning to track the car.

So if my engine was built in Towanda; did a robot build it? What is the difference in "hand built" vs. Towanda built, exactly?

The one is an assembly-line type of build just like any other car and involving a number of people. The "hand-build" is done by one person who carefully inspects the parts before assembly for possible flaws, etc. and personally checks proper torqueing of bolts, etc. as he or she assembles the engine. The specially trained GM Engine Technicians pay special attention to every factor involved with the building of an engine that is going into a car that GM assumes is being purchased especially and particularly for tracking. That engine builder then is required to "sign off" on that engine build and can be held responsible under certain criteria for its failure. Do you think one of those GM Engine Technicians wants to put an engine in your car with his/her name on it that wasn't built to perform in every way?

I built mine in Bowling Green Preformance Build Center 4/25/17
