Which is why iam asking for a recommendation for the best car WAX. Do i use that 1 a year wax or dose somebody have a better idea? THANKS BOONIE

Zaino

I am sure there will be many opinions expressed here, but I will cast my vote for Zaino products. I have used them on my vehicles without complaint. They are by far the easiest to apply and remove. I have used lots of waxes and polishes from Meguiar's, Turtle Wax, Ibiz, etc. I like Zaino best.

I've had good luck with both Mother's carnuba show polish and a product called Liquid Glass. From my experience Mother's is great product and best for show cars. You apply one coat ever month or so and its looks great as long as you keep it out of the rain. On the other hand Liquid Glass is great for everyday drivers with good to excellent paint. Its best to apply it in several coats over a single day. It actually will build up on top of itself to creater a 'thicker' coating of protection. This also gives it a slightly 'deeper' shine with the benefit of smoothing out any surface scratches in the paint. Before applying either I'd use a good hand wash soap, my favorite is from Mother's. After drying the car completely I'd then go over with a 'clay bar' to pick up any dust or road particles stuck in the pores of the paint. This step will remove any contaminants that might dislodge during the polishing process. I've used this on my Mustang and the finish afterwards is amazing. I'm sure other members will respond with their favorite polishes and cleaners also, so not everyone might agree with me on these products.

I agree with Thanatos69 - " Liquid Glass is great for everyday drivers with good to excellent paint. Its best to apply it in several coats over a single day. It actually will build up on top of itself to creater a 'thicker' coating of protection"

I've used Liquid Glass for over 30 years on seven different corvettes - I've tried several other brands over the years, including Zaino, Liquid Glass works best for me ...

Id have to agree, Zaino has been very good for me, One word of advise, Take the time and claybar your ride , it does wonders,All that sweat pays off, I think I have clayed mine 5 times allready and it always just sits under the cover in the garage, so U can imagine the shine. Wax on, Wax off, wax on Wax off Good luck DanielSon!:beer

Nice shine!, I also agree 3M products are very good, In fact I only use 3M Claybar, That Blu stuff is fantastic.:beer

Okay, so where does one pick up 3M products? I will give these a try as well.

Bryan

I get mine from O'reilly Auto Parts but anyone that supplies body shops can get you 3m or the have an online store.

My local NAPA store has the full line of 3M products. I am undecided, I have used them all. I like Liquid Glass, 3M, Mothers, Mequiers and Zaino. I can't tell which is the longest lasting because I polish my Vette once a week. Liquid Glass seems to last longest on my Truck and has a great shine.

best wax

The best Corvette wax is made by Shell Oil Co. It is called AeroShell Flight Jacket Polish. I've tried alot of different waxes over the years and this is the BEST. Save the Wave.> George

Hi,
It was a toss up between Zaino and Mothers. Didn't have time to get the Zaino.....Will be trying Mother's this weekend. Will let you know how it works out.

There will be as many answers to this as there are products available. The "best" car wax is a rather subjective thing. That said, I really like Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax on dark colors, and Pinnacle Paste Glaz on lighter colors. These products can be found at www.properautocare.com A great site, with many great items. :)

A less expensive alternative that is well respected as well, is either S100 or P21S carnauba waxes.

Over the years the only one I've used is Zaino. So I can't say it's better than the others, except I'm partial to Zaino.
