You'r elucky the c4 one is $120. Problem is its discontinued for years and now they are all breaking at once! The $120 for the c4 is finally available again as a reproduction....which means it doesnt slowly dim the light but just clicks off ad

Wasnt there somebody on here who repaired them? It was an older post.

As I recall evarsite or his friend has duplicated the unit with the added slow dimming feature

I did write to him but the post was so old that maybe he isn't around anymore. But hopefully the soldering idea will pan out, sounds like its a great solution.

Look for visible burn marks or breaks in the soldier on the board. You should be able to make them out. Repair those areas. You will also be able to pick out any fryed transistors. Easy to replace.

Now you know why salvage yards and thieves strip cars and part them out!! Makes sense to me.
