Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Why waste $$$ to make your car louder?

Because you want to let that V8 engine sound like it should. The low bassy sound that is so intimidating ... let that engine breathe better and plus it adds a touch of class that others will envy. Just do it ... it's all about what you want and I know your baby would love it too. :D

Save the wave ... :w

Tell them it's none of their BUSINESS

Because when its LOUD, I dont have to listen to you blah blah blah all the time.

I have also had a hard time deciding about exhaust. When I bought my car it had new B&B Bullets on it (very LOUD) which would not have been bad but it was incredibly loud inside the car. The radio or conversation was almost impossible and there was a question whether it would pass Missouri inspection because of the noise. The Chevy dealer I bought the car from put a stock system on it and gave me the bullets too. Since I used the car for over a year as a daily driver, I left the stock mufflers on. They have nice sound and do get loud under full pedal. But now that the car is a garage queen, I have thought about putting on the B&B's.:confused

I'm thinking of putting the Corsa Tiger Sharks on my C5, the only concern I have is will the new exhaust sytem hide the chrome exhaust plate.?

My C5 had the B&B stainless steel exhaust on when I bought her. After listening to the clips and looking over the hardware on the website, I believe it's the Route 66 system.

And, unfortunately, I couldn't use the chrome exhaust plate I purchased from the NCM. I gave it to one of my friends, a fellow member here.

Yes, the Tigershark system will hide the chrome plate. The Tigershark tips are spaced evenly across the back. Many other systems keep hte stock spacing with two tips on each side and the middle open.

I think everyone here has hit on the good reasons to do it....what more do you need? Better fuel mileage, better sound, more HP, more torque!
I have chambered on the C3 (radio delete) so I might as well have something that sounds good to listen to while driving. I just put a Magnaflow with dual pipes on the Silverado and it sounds sweeeeet. Anything for better fuel mileage on that beast!

Go for it!

go both ways

Make them and you happy. Installed QTP electric cut-outs, and have it quiet or open. They work great.

Why not

My Magni Flow and X pipe sound thunderous. Add a ram air intake w/ a couple of K&N filters and the Beastie gets plenty loud and no one has said it sounds bad. Plus if you believe all the advertising hype you'll add 20-30 hp as well

Did You Say Something Dear?

A married friend of mine put it this way; "who cares if you can't carry on a conversation inside the car"?

I got straight pipes....Definetly worth it... who cares about conversation. I think im going deaf but w/e at least its loud.

I doubt if I've listened to my stereo more than just a few times in three years. I get off listening to the car..........that's why I have a Vette!
