Regrettably, my wife backed into our 1986 Vette and damaged the hood that forms the fender flair. It is pretty buggered up, but the very top of the flair is good, so damage is small, maybe half a square foot. Where can I buy a new patch panel? It would sure be easier than fixing a shattered fender flair.

ps. I didn't know my wife knew words like that when she got out of the truck!!

It will all work out.
So, she was in the truck and hit your vette.

I remember when I was in my vette and hit my husbands truck.
It will all work out.

So who is on the couch tonite?

Sorry for your accident.....good luck. Not sure you can get a patch unless it's off a wreck...

Are you asking about a new panel or a new wife? :L:L:L

No, I'm not married! :L

Edmond, never get married, better that way.

New hoods are 1500 US. I really need a source for a patch. And yeah, the single life ain't that bad looking right now.

You don't have to tell me twice! :L

It'll have to get patched and then repainted, right? I think the biggest problem with buying a new hood is the shipping. I imagine the cost would be pretty high and the chance of damage would be high as well.

Could you post some pics of the acutal damage area??? There are guys out there that are very good at patching fiberglass, and forming it. I have heard of some kind of netting or mesh that can be formed, and then strengthened. I just had the motor take a crap in my vette mid summer, and now the motor just dumped in my Trans Am. All I could do is sit back after a while and smile and realize how great life is. Could be worse, I could have neither to worry about.

I am sure you will get it all straight. Now might be a good time for making a big xmas list for yourself, and give to your wife. Hey crap happens buddy.

I have pictures in my digital camera. I haven't got a clue what to do with them to show you, but I bet lots of people here know how. I do have a cable from camera to computer handy, plus software.

I'm pretty sure that if you're running XP and plug the camera in to the computer, you'll get an automatic prompt. Just go from there.

I'll try her in the morning. I love following prompts.
