I think this was probably the down fall of the c5. It will be very easy to keep the C6 modern andd not outdated if it gets a mild facelift every couple of years.
In the end I see the C6 being contiually refined until it becomes perfect.
That's why it looks so much like the C5 right now, IMO. It's because they would like to be able to refine the overall shape of the C5 but the c5 was just too outdated, so they wanted to make the C6 a proper starting point for future alterations.
I also see the first year C6 as an overall tribute to all previous generatiopns of corvettes past. If you remember correctly, this was meant to be the 50th anniversery edition so it makes perfect sense.
