WinALDL version 1.09b is released now.
It is a free 160 baud scanner that works with 1982-1989 Corvettes.

* Buggfix Sensor log had a metic/US mixup for some ECM's.
* Added a WinALDL icon.
* Added one decimal to the TPS voltage value.
* Added 'hot keys' to reduce the need for a mouse while changing displays. Use '1','2','3' ... to select tab, 'D' for dash, 'C' for config, 'L' for log dialog and 'S' to start/stop logging.

Is support for 1990 up Vettes in the works? ;help

Sorry, no ...

This is a 160 baud scanner for the older GM ECM's. The 1986 Corvette got the newer faster 8192 baud ALDL data, but for backward compability with the digital dash the 160 baud data was kept. MPG data is transmitted to the digital dash using 160 baud. In 1990 with the new dash the 160 baud data was not needed any more.

There are faster scanners (Craig Moates) for the 1986-1991 Corvettes, but for 1982-1985 Corvette I think that WinALDL is one of the best.

I,m a little confused about the power requirements for the cable on an 86.

Any insight into this would help?

Mart

Okay, maybe this is going to sound dumb, but.. How would you use the Scanner ? I see that it reads data out the ECM but can you program the ECM with it ?
And yes, here is the dumb question: What good does that do ? Can you tell i am technically challenged :eyerole ?
Maybe someone can enlighten me, pretty please? :)
