My 2004 has had repeated failures of the drivers window regulator/motor.
Does anyone know of a fix so that this will not keep happening? It has been replaced twice in 3 years and just quit again. This is expensive and irritating.
Could the window be out of adjustment causing excess load on the motor?
Thanks in advance for any help. This forum has been a great help in my adventures with my Corvette.

How do you know that it's the regulator?

Could it be that the regulator there is just not getting power to it?

What part was replaced the last few times? The motor or the regulator? The relays in the regulator that control the door locks and window are known for going bad.

i have had the poblem twice now where my passenger window will not operate. first time it was the motor that had exess carbon build up from the brushes and second time....last week.....the reel mecanism had got jammed. quick and easy self fix

fixed

Well, the dealer fixed it again, this time under warranty. (nice) They had to replace the window regulator. I think the motor gets a dead spot in it because if I can get it to go down it will always go back up. Last one only lasted 11 months and I don't use the window that much.
