Not really winking, but looks like a grinning silver porpoise. While at Eureka Springs Corvette weekend with my "new" 2000 Vert, I had occasion to turn the headlights on during the midnight cruise. I had used them previously without incident;however, upon turning them off after returning to the motel, both light closed as usual, but the driver's side popped back up ( I don't think it was fully up, though).There was a full moon and we were in EUREKA Springs, AR after all. Could it been the spirits of Corvettes past?

Seriously, to all the experts in CAC land hve you ever experineced this or know someone who knows how to exorcise these gremlins? Some of you knowI just purhased the car and it is a WOW! I hope it is something insignificant, but either way I will get it fixed. By the way, I was able use the manual retracting knob located next to the headlight to fully retract that gleaming "eye". Thanks for assistance in advance.

There is a TSB for this condition.
It is listed here in the knowledge base.
The technician will add 3 washers and 2 bumper, and this will cure your problems.

headlight problem

Thank you C4/C5 Specialist for your timely reply concerning my headlight problem. Do you happen to know if there is a name for the headlight condition or should I simply show the service tech.?The reason I ask is that Corvette knowledgeable mechanics are not that pleniful in this area and I want to be sure the one at my dealership fully understands and diagnoses the problem correctly. Thanks again for your help.
